Floating Ball Valve Introduction

Floating Ball Valve are mainly applied to natural gas, oil products, chemical engineering, metallurgy, city building, environment protection, pharmacy, and food industries, among which the anti-sulfur series are used for long delivery pipes of natural gas that contains hydrogen sulfide medium, a lot of impurity and corrosive substances.

design features

DATIAN standard floating ball valves are manufactured in tow pieces bolted body,ball valves could be supplied full or reduced bore,designed for maximum rigidity against pipeline thrust,made from forged components or barstock.
Bolted body constructions allow easy service and maintenance opration on site,Pressure rating is from class ANSI 150 up to ANSI 2500 Lbs.
Valves are usually supplied with lever operator,with gear box or bare stem on customer request.All standard floating ball valves have below features:

  • Lock device:valve is equipped iwth an integral locking device to secure line flow.
  • Blow-out proof stem:the stem is made separately from the ball with integral T-type round shoulder,which ensures total safety and integrity.
  • Anti-Static Design:grounding device are supplied form positive anti-static between ball/stem and body.
  • ISO 5211 mount plate:simplifies the installlation of actuators with standard connections.
  • Emission-firee gasket:the primary gaskey is emission free graphite to eliminate leakage.

fire safe design

DATIAN ball valve have acquired API 607 certification,Fire safe is standard desing on all DATIAN(KJV) Ball valves,
When fire burned out the primary O-ring and seat insetr,the secondary seat fire-safe packing graphite seal,and seat ring & ball metal to metal contact preloaded by spring will minimize the internal process medium leakage.

The design features of the floating ball valves include

Speciffic Sealing Structure of Valve Base

Double cant elastic seal ring or V-shaped groove seal ring structural design is adopted to ensure sealing reliability. As for low- pressure, ultralow pressure or vacuum-operated ball valves, a plate spring-loaded sealing structure of valve base is adopted to ensure their longterm sealing reliability. As for moderate or high-temperature ball valves, Para-position polyphenylene or mental can be adopted for valve base material.

Full Bore Structure and Reduced Bore Structure

The two structure series are produced to meet different requirements of users. The passage inside the diameter of full diameter ball valves is the same as that of the valve pipe, which is convenient for pipe cleaning. The weight of retractive diameter ball valves is relatively light the fluid resistance is just 1/7 that of stop valves with the same caliber. Therefore, the application prospects of retractive diameter series are much better.

Automatic pressure relief structure

When the pressure in the cloaca cavity increases singularly, the cavity medium can push the valve base by its own thrusting force, which results in automatic pressure relief and valve security assurance.

Anti-static Structure

While operating the valve, the friction between the sphere and the base will produce static charges accumulating on the sphere. To avoid static sparkle, the fire-resistant device is designed to derive the accumulated static sparkle, charges from the sphere.

Fire-resistant Structure

According to the operating condition and user requirement, a ball valve can be designed with a fire-resistant structure up to the fire-resistant standards of API607. API 6FA and JB/T6899.0nce the soft seal ring is burnt out on fire, the structure can avoid serious leaking of the medium and prevent the fire from scaling up.

Reliable Sealing of Valve Rod

The valve rod adopts a downward installation structure with back sealing. The sealing force will increase together with the heightening of medium pressure, which can ensure the sealing reliability. Moreover, even if the pressure in the valve cavity increases singularly, the valve rod will not burst out.

Locking Device

A locking structure is designed on the full-open and full-close spots of manual ball valves to avoid abnormal open-and-close produced by the misoperation or unpredictable circuit vibration. On production lines of petroleum and chemicals of flammable mediums, and during the course of outdoor piping, the design is especially advantageous and practical.
